Zoolumination at the Nashville Zoo

Come see the Zoo in a whole new light and enjoy the country's largest Chinese lantern festival. Over 500 custom-made silk lanterns will be spread across 60 acres, creating elaborate displays with some of your favorite Zoo animals, holiday-themed scenes and even a 200-foot-long dragon. Chinese artists have reimagined your favorite zoo animals in a bright and colorful way. See lantern displays of rhinos, giraffes, elephants and dozens more in uniquely themed animal and flower scenes throughout the Zoo. Plus, select animal exhibits will be open late, including Sumatran tiger, Andean bear, Carribean flamingos and Unseen New World.

Get Ready For the Goodlettsville Gingerbread Man Contest

he Gingerbread Man Contest is a new community activity taking place during Hometown Holidays. Pick up your gingerbread man template at the Community Center starting on November 4th and use it to create a special gingerbread man to display in the Gingerbread Man Gallery during the month of December. Men may be made from the paper of the template, or with foam board, poster board, or cardboard.

Come and personally experience Father Ryan during a Campus Tour. Campus tours are available most Mondays and Fridays from 9:30 - 11 am. These guidelines will help you prepare for a wonderful visit: Tours fill up quickly, so we recommend you Register Early, Please arrive on time. Remember, all times listed are Central Time, Be prepared to walk outside. Wear comfortable shoes as most tours last an hour and dress appropriately for the weather. Bring an umbrella just in case, If you have special needs, please inform our office before your arrival. Wear PURPLE... it's a safe bet.

Mound Bottom Archaeology Hike at Harpeth River State Park

Join park guide and local historian Kevin Markuson on a guided hike to Mound Bottom, a prehistoric Native American mound site know as a civic/ceremonial center. Constructed by people of the Middle Cumberland Mississippian Culture, this site was occupied from 11th through the 14th centuries. Located in a horseshoe bend of the Harpeth River, the site consists of 12 mounds surrounding an open plaza as well as residential areas. We will discuss who these people were, where they came from, how they lived and the reasons for the eventual abandonment of the site. Please wear sturdy shoes or hiking boots and be prepared for a 2 mile hike up and down hills on a woodland trail to the site.

Father Ryan is excited to invite all 8th graders to Irish Gameday. Join us for an evening of fun, food and games. During Irish Gameday, you have the option to choose which Irish counties you would like to visit to complete your passport. The Irish Gameday counties will include: video game truck, gotcha, volleyball, party games, dance area, photo booth, pizza, cookies, and more! It all takes place in the Catignani-Drennan Fieldhouse from 6 - 7:30 pm. Registration is required.

Annual Gossett Gobble 5K Trail Run at Harpeth River State Park

Come out to Harpeth River State Park to get your Thanksgiving Day started out on the right foot!
